Air pollution caused by the harmful level of PM2.5 in the air has been alarming in many cities and provinces in Laos this Dry Season namely in Luang Prabang, Xiengkhuang, Bolikhamxay, Khammuan, Vientiane Province, and Vientiane Capital where the Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeded the safe level for human health. The issue had become more visible to the public through viral photos on social media shared by netizens portraying the sepia-filter-like sceneries of the cities covered in thick dust.
